Lots of good questions, that's what I love about this forum. Most everyone here is Savvy on these hot rods. As for stock compression the previous owner builds the combo for higher boost, my guess is he was shooting for max boost, he was running Pro charger F1A cog belt race setup but snap the crankshaft snout with low miles on his build. Thats when I bought the Cobra. After carful inspection of the motor all that was needed was a new crank kit. new piston rings hone the cylinder and a good valve job. Soo Keeping the cost down on the new build I stayed with the pistons I had. My last build was 5.0 stroker kit with 10.1 CP ratio cams LT and all the good stuff 2.3 VMP 16# boost 16-degree timing and made right at 670w HP on 93 pump I'm sure the VMP 2.65R blower will make up for stock CP ratio...@23# of boost and live well in the HOT Florida sun LOL... As for the cams I called comp cams gave them the numbers off the cams to get the spec I needed to degree them in properly, Thats when they told me that the intake cams are of the shelf blower cams but the exhaust where custom. I don't claim to be cam guy but was told the custom exhaust grind help in removing heat off the top off the pistons. Hmm. Based on everyone's input looks like I will not be disappointed in the HP department. I would love to see 800 plus...HP Thanks for all your input. MB
