My stockers were dry rotted and with all the rain we've been having in the south they were actually leaking into the trunk. I saved the original housings and lenses since they were still in good shape. With a new butyle kit from LMR they would have probably been just fine but I really wanted to try out the Amber turn signals and I couldn't be happier. Really pops against the blue. I ordered new housings, lenses and install kit through LMR. Just thought I'd share to give an idea to anyone who was on the fence about the amber turn signals over the stock clears.

These are the '83-'84 Lenses from this kit Mustang Tail Light Lens Kit (83-84) - LMR.com. The box has them labeled as '83-'84 lenses as well so Im guessing they are different from the '85-'86 but I couldn't tell you what that difference is.
IIRC, the difference is the color of the bar in the center.
