Your right, but the thing is Ford doesn't show their 6.2L any real love. It actual shines extremely well for what it is. It's a very basic motor compared to the other modern motors in the Ford lineup. Other than VVT it's not really any more advanced than the old 2v Modulars. I mean it use 2 spark plug a cylinder, but if Ford would invest some money to develop the Boss 6.2L farther they would have a hell of a v8. It needs to be modernized a little bit IMO and I hate saying that as it's Fords newest v8 design. I have no doubt that if Ford wanted to give it more power and torque they would have no problem what-so-ever coxing more out of it, and I feel sure that they could improve it MPG as well if they would just go at it they same way they have with the other motors in their lineup. Basically Ford started developing the 6.2 for be the new SD replacement for the old 5.4/6.8 Modulars, and then the CAFE standard started tightening, and Ford wanted to drop the motor, but they had invested so much in it at that point that they decided to finish it, but it seems very low priority for them now. I hope they don't drop it from their lineup in the next few years because IMO if they wanted to and invested the money in developing it then the Boss 6.2L could be the best performance v8 Ford has ever made. I'm telling y'all that motor has huge potential locked in it just waiting for the factory to help bring it out.
