I'm retired with 4 trips to the Middle East totalling 3 years. I was in Club Med(Bahrain) and seen nothing like you have. Thanks for your service, much respect. But I think I can put your mindset into perspective with a few questions. 1. What would all of our men and woman in uniform as well as our allies that paid the ultimate price think about the outcome of this war? 2. What do the families of all those who paid the ultimate price think about the outcome of this war? In the end....is Afghanistan a better place for all the sacrifices? Worse? I think there is enough behind the scenes that we are not privy to that would really piss us off. It was a horrible draw down and now we are hated by our allies and viewed untrustworthy for it. So YES, it makes a difference at least to me as it obviously does to you what my goal is if I were to tie my boot laces back up. We can be used for good, bad effectively or ineffectively depending on who is shouting the orders. You're pissed off and rightfully so, many of us are. We just got slapped in the face by our own Government. The fall-out from this will be terrible. The difference between this and Vietnam? No Clue.
