OP...here are my qualifications to respond. 30-years active duty USAF, enlisted in 1982 and trained to become a C-130 Loadmaster and later swapped over to the C-17. Retired with 6,000 flight hours and 1,200 of those were flown in Combat in Iraq and Afghanistan and other shitholes. Worked my way up from E-1 to E-9 and held several key positions at the Squadron, Group, and Wing Level. My last few years were served as a Command Chief Master Sergeant. I was 1 of 90 in the entire USAF. I tell you that not to brag about my accomplishments but to qualify my answer. Along my journey I worked under great Leaders and those who should have never been in charge of anything. Notice I did not say I served the Leaders I worked for. I served the USA, the Flag, and what we stand for. Nothing else mattered. Leaders / supervisors / commanders / Presidents come and go. They only impact for a very short time. Many times during my 30-year career, I could have tossed in the towel due to stupid decisions up the chain. When I faced those obstacles I always turned to the original reason I enlisted to serve in the military. I kept focused on the mission and to take care of the men/women on my Team. IMHO: The current POTUS is nothing but a puppet directed on what to say and how to respond. I believe he suffers from early onset dementia. Why does he hold the most powerful office on this planet? How was he elected? What damage has he done and what is he going to do in the next few years? How could he have screwed up the withdraw and gave up Bagram prior to leaving that shithole? Why would he put us in that position? Who gives a flying @uck. It is not about who is in charge. It is about something much bigger...and if you don't understand that...why did you join in the first place. Yes...if given the chance to back up my clock and strap on my boots I would be proud to put on my uniform and serve again for as long as I could. That is what I did the first time around.
