I’m looking to replace the headlights on my 2001 cobra since they’re all worn out and look pretty bad. My question is should I buy original ford headlights at $220-$300 a pair or is there some aftermarket ones that you recommend? Also, since I’m replacing the headlights should I also replace the bulbs to something better/brighter or keep them stock? Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

I really like the double headlights with separate hi and lo beam projectors; although, I am not sure they are made anymore.

I would go with OEM's. They seem to have less condensation issues compared to aftermarket options.

Check Ebay for some deals. I scored a practically new OEM set for around $70.

If you lean towards original I would go with the Factory replacements, If not then here is a good option that would give you a boost in your lighting but moderately priced.
Mustang Retrofit Projector Headlight Kit (99-04) - LMR

And here is a good thread from 3 years ago.

The retrofits are a great deal. Throw an hid kit at it and you have some great light. 10x better than any stock headlight.
