Later the next day I go to car wash / cruise to the beach car runs awesome.tonight I drive about a mile and a half to the gas station to get some air in my tire.shut the car got in it and tried to start it.starter is engaging but no turnover what is causing this.bad ground possibly? So terminology.

Starter is engaging but no turnover….

Turning over/cranking would be what you mean by the starter is engaging.

So it’s cranking but not starting?

Well my buddy just got finished rescuing me at the 7 11.we jumped it and I almost made it home but had to rejump it about 100 yards out from the garage miraculously pulled into the garage lol.im thinking it could possibly be the battery terminals.their a little big for the battery pylon.but I still don't thinkThat the terminals are the issue

When you say the starter is engaging do you mean it’s spinning but not turning the motor over?
Yes. We jumped the car barley made it home but had to rejump it 100 yards out from the house.just bought a brand new battery 2 days ago and installed a kmj alt about 2 weeks ago.car ran amazing yesterday.it could be that the terminals are a little to big for the battery pylons but I don't believe that to be the issue

Have you even verified that you’re charging after the alt replacement?

Grab a cheap multimeter from any parts store and start testing.

Get the alternator checked out. The KMJ seems hit or miss. I have one buddy that is running the KMJ with no issues. And another that had the alternator show up dead.

You can get lead caps for battery. For the terminal to hold better,

Yes just slightly loose will cause both starting and charging.

When you test test system check both ,,voltage at battery and voltage Inside car.

For me. The ground going to motor mount. Stud had snapped but didn't fall ,

Caused me to replace alt when it wasn't bad ,

After replacing is when I found ground broken ,

Along with this ,,ground from battery to radiator support.

This I upgraded,,before I was seeing 13 v inside car.

Now I'm seeing 14.1 or higher

I ordered some battery terminals from AM so once I get them I'll probably put it on after I charge the battery I got a multi meter today so hopefully I can find some spare time to see what's wrong with it.sounds like we have similar problems.a ground wouldn't surprise me
