1. Don't ever let that mechanic touch your car again... ever 2. Probably need a new tuner, send us your datalog I have livelink As far as readiness flags... I've learned ALOT about this as I tried to legit smog my car here in CA. Have you looked to see which ones are ready and which ones aren't? From my experience you will NEVER get the catalyst to run... ever. I started with not being able to get the EGR to run either even though it's installed and enabled in the tune, eventually I found out it wouldn't run the test unless I plugged my FPDM back in and faked it out with a resistor to think it was running pumps (I have a return style fuel system). After that tho I could NEVER get it to run the catalyst, many have had the same issue. My rear O2s were enabled and everything, but there are certain parameters that must be met (which ford will NOT share, assholes). I discussed this on the various forums and I found one other guy with the same issue and it appeared going to a stock MAF was the only way to get it to run. My guess is the ECU looks for a certain airflow # to run the catalyst checks, and since any aftermarket MAF requires you to scale the numbers it'll never run. This is all assuming your tuner has all the proper things turned on in your tune (adaptive learning, rear 02 sensors, catalyst temp corrections etc etc etc). Your best bet is to just turn the readiness tests off, when scanned they will just say N/A... if your smog guy asks just play dumb :).
