So I’ve tried rewinding my ebrake and for the life of me, I can not get it to work correctly. When the cable broke, we did not do the removal correctly and it unwound. I’ve tried using the cable to attempt and place the tension back and it always come up about half turn short and is just loose. The gears where the cable mechanism goes onto doesn’t line up with the holding plate that catches the handle to pull on the cables. I’ve tried following the steps on the how to thread but I’m at a loss. The pictures aren’t there anymore to use as a guide.

Any guidance or help is very much appreciated!

I’m going to try and upload a picture the current state of my lever assembly.

I have two pretty much rear brake cables if you need them? Maybe they are stretched?

I plan on cheesing out and trying to put in 4 mm split washers to take up the slack on the brake line under the car to tighten the cable.

Thanks for the help and replies. I attached a picture of my latest attempts. The cable is nice and snug there. But as you can see, it is about one full turn away from the gears being able to engage into the latch plate and pull on the cables when the lever is pulled up. I get the same results no matter how much I rewind it. I don’t see any signs of the cables running to the back being stretched. The front cable I have is the Ford BRCA-47 but it seems to be too long, almost like if it’s for the new edge cars.
