Have a 2012 Boss 302 supercharged with a Paxton Novi 2200SL and was getting false knock at around 5200 rpm's at wot. Couldn't figure out where it was coming from and thought maybe it was in the tune, turned out it was something else. I happened to be removing the supercharger to replace the pulley and belt and noticed when I removed the MAF that the honey comb air flow straightener up stream from the MAF was loose and rattling around in it's housing. The straightener is made of a thin aluminum honeycomb and was just pressed in to the housing and had come loose. I used some JB Weld around the edges of one side of the honey comb to secure it to the housing and when all was reassembled, the false knock had disappeared . I know it wasn't the tune because I reassembled with the same size supercharger pulley and didn't change the tune. It is now smoother than it has ever been through the entire rpm range. And on another note, it's a good idea to every so often check the air flow straightener if your car is equipped with one. The honeycomb is very flimsy and if it comes apart can easily be sucked into the intake. Mine was on the verge of doing so. Hope this helps someone.
Hi All, I'm a newby to this site and have never posted before. I came across this site when researching false knock. I know this is an old thread but want to put my two cents worth in anyways. I used some JB Weld around the edges of one side of the honey comb to secure it to the housing and when all was reassembled, the false knock had disappeared :) :) :).
