"Mustang" a separate sub-brand and separate from other Ford products? That direction would be very unlikely IMO? They already have Lincoln as a separate division. No, just don't see that happening. SRT more identifies with Ford Performance. Genesis is to Hyundai what Acura is to Honda. If Ford WAS going to go in that direction IMO they would have chosen another name. Certainly not "Mustang". Very few people in the U.S. would see "Mustang" as a luxury line. JMO. They could have done this as a Lincoln offering (which would make more sense if they wanted an upscale vehicle), but Lincoln doesn't have anything to compare to the current Mustang, so the styling would have to change quite a bit to get rid of the Mustang cues. This is one of the most confusing decisions Ford has ever made IMO. Look at the Rivian R1S. It's a different design/model vs. the Mustang E, but look at the specs and design. It's a unique design, not a confusing blend of a crossover and Mustang. 0-60 is 3 seconds. Up to 750 hp. Quad-motor system for superior handling, on and off-road. 400+mile range. Their truck is mind blowing. I only point the Rivian out because IMO Ford should have designed a completely NEW all-electric vehicle that is so stunning design-wise and feature-wise, inside and out, that the public would accept it en-mass. Ford chose not to take a risk and instead try to cash in on a popular model name. They took the easier path, but in doing so, they got lost along the way.
