Huge day yesterday at Summit Point Motorsports Park with the Get Fast Events - Refrigerator Bowl Round 1 & 2. We were on Shennandoah Circuit for trackcross. Car did great in the freezing cold weather. No issues besides lack of traction, especially in the rear. Im very sure my rear sway bar was adding to the loss of traction even with pressures set lower than i usually run. Stripped the car of all weight i could - spare, jack, trunk lining, laid back seats down, no floor mats, Pressures were as follows: Ran 40F/37R for the first run to see how it ran. Was VERY loose in the rear, enough that it scared me on the Karussel so i backed out of it coming off the jump. Set 39F/35R and went back out. Car was much more planted. Front felt perfect with good traction. Rear was better but still felt a bit loose on off camber corners. Lowered the rear to 34psi and went for my final run. Car felt even better but still has too much oversteer in the rear. I believe it has too much rear roll stiffness which makes it worse in the cold. Ill keep testing and hope to get a warmer day to see if its any better. Fastest time in the morning - 43.6 - 29/79 raw times Fastest time in the afternoon - 48.5 - 37/75 raw times So 2nd fastest Fiesta ST in the afternoon and fastest in the morning. Course overview. Ive been tracking at Summit Point quite a bit but this was the first time ive been around the Karussell on Shenandoah. So it was quite the treat in the morning. Some pics from the bridge from a friend's iphone as i havent found out who was actually taking pictures. When i get some hi-res photos ill update the thread with them. Me coming up the corkscrew. Run #2 on the corkscrew. Here is coming off the Karussell and through the end gate. Speeds were in the 80's at the end coming over the crest. I didnt get any photos from the afternoon runs but hope the photographer that was there did. Overall great day at Summit Point with GFE and plan on heading back for at least another round or two.
