I wasn't sure if anyone was interested, but I obtained the information to track the GT40 roller coming across the Atlantic (or it is supposed to be coming across the Atlantic).

The ship is the MAERSK VISBY

It's location can be tracked here: Vessel details for: MAERSK VISBY (Container Ship) - IMO 9411367, MMSI 564979000, Call Sign 9V8827 Registered in Singapore | AIS Marine Traffic Click on the small map (edited for a better link)

Now I know why it takes so long, the ship is going the wrong way!...LOL

Now scheduled to get to port in the US on 11/8

Really looking forward to seeing it finished. I will build a Superformance GT40 hopefully in the next few years. I just hope the new movie doesn’t persuade Superformance raise prices too high since I’m sure their chassis’s will without a doubt see an increase in demand after the Ford v Ferrari movie comes out. Good luck tuning the EFI ITB’s, as we talked about previously. If you need any help let me know. I can put you in contact with those that know them inside and out.

Wonder if there is anything cooler on the ship? Unlikely, but you never know what might be hiding in a container....

There are at least three Cobra replicas on that same ship. I believe there is only one GT40.

Zero issues with Cobra's, but a GT40 is cooler to me!

Very, very cool car. Are you having a shop do final assembly or are you installing the engine/transaxle yourself? What all needs completion once it hits the states?

Also, I know it won't be done in time, but this would be AWESOME to show up to a movie theater in on the opening night of Ford vs. Ferrari.

I am having Dennis Olthoff assemble the car at his shop in Mount Ulla NC. Dennis has raced GT40's competitively for years, helped develop the chassis for Superformance, still makes some of the parts for the factory to build the cars, and knows every trick to getting the car completely sorted out.

The car is a "roller" now, still needs the engine and transaxle (not an axle that is changing genders BTW), tires, suspension set up, chassis dyno, and street time to finish the tune. I am thinking 4-8 weeks at Dennis's.

I was thinking too how cool to show up at the theatre in the GT40 when Ford vs Ferrari lets out....LOL

So what do you do while you wait for your GT40 from South Africa? You keep watching the marine navigation everyday to check for progress!

The route that the ship takes is Newark NJ, Baltimore, then on to Charleston SC for my container to get unloaded.

But seeing it was getting close to Newark, I started looking for a nice cam feed, and got lucky!
