So my last trip to the track was cut short. Ive assesed the damages and getting everything fixed/replaced now.

The knuckle/spindle broke which lead to a few things.

And bent my Bilstien

The knuckles/spindles werent done right and when i broke one at irwindale last year they were supposed to be redone and they werent done properly by the guy who originally did them.

Now that im working with a suspension company and on a Formula Drift team our crew chief/fabricator/engineer(Bink Industries) stepped up and wanted to build them for me to get me back on the track sooner.
Here is what he did for me and they look great! These will hold up to the abusive driving and forces that come with drifting. Super excited about these!

As for the rest of the stuff. The hiems are easy fix. The bilstien has been straightened by one of the shops we use to fix bent shafts. Gonna give it an extra touch from my fab guy around the base where it is bent just incase the chances it may have weakened. Then im rebuilding them and revavling them as well.

Using those for now until we have some of these ready for my chassis soon, these pictured are S197 Feal 441 coiovers. Soon to have some for the sn95 chassis later this year.

Fresh from Bink Industries my Bilsteins. The one bent one i got straightened and he welded both up nicely. Gonna finish up revalving/servicing these and reassemble them to go back in the car this weekend.

Thanks man. Can't wait to go back. I need to add on to my roll cage so I can do the big bank. That's the next goal.

I don't comment much but i must say all your hard work is paying off big time. Car looks great out there. The angle of the inside tire is insane. Great build.

ridiculous build, I love it. I'm just getting into all the basics of drifting (just literature etc). My question is about the handbrake set up. I understand that it is hydraulic and has its own plumbing and master cylinder. My question is RE: function. When you pull the handbrake you are fully engaging rear wheel discs to lock, correct? if youre abruptly stopping movement to the rear wheels/driveline, how does the car not stall out? I'm probably missing something but thanks in advance and again, awesome build.

Yes it fully engages, when you use it you have to press in the clutch to disengage the drive line and it doesn't stall out.

So its been awhile since ive updated the build thread.

IMG_20151003_220844_zps2dojwuum.jpg

Took the car to irwindale again last month and had the steering rack finally give out. Its the OEM rack that has been on this car since day 1. So i was was waiting for this day to come. I pulled the rack and sent it out to a shop that rebuilds the racks for the shops Pro cars.

So that is good to go. Found another issue though
IMG_20151028_212320749_zpsptir6y9y.jpg

Seems this tierod setup just isnt holding up, The outer hiem is also bent as usual and they tend to have alot of play in the bearing as well. So it was time to revamp this stuff to something that isnt gonna bend or have play.
So we took some Wisefab rod ends we use on the shops 240 and gen coupe and i extended the tierods with some DOM tubing.

IMG_20151121_175424692_zpsy9scawz3.jpg

The other issue i wanted to clean up was this nasty wheel flop i have at full lock.
IMG_2365_zpsifwkkxsc.jpg

So i did some notching on the center hole on the shock tower to move the caster more forward. The reason i had to notch it was because i flipped the MM plates around backwards to get more forward caster out of it.
IMG_20151030_212143046_zpszcsm0uqo.jpg

I set the camber full positive on the plates and dialed in some negative camber at the actual shock mounting point.
So this will clean that up nicely now at full lock. Itll require more driver input on the wheel but that is the challenge in drifting car.

Also fitted up with some 295/40/18's on the back. These tires kick ass on our Pro cars so i cant wait to run these for Top drift this upcoming season.

Most recent took the car out to a Carshow/dyno day at GTR last weekend.

I saw your car early this year at Knotts and looks amazing in person. This really makes me want to get back into racing.

Thanks. Yeah it's been inspiring to some people which is always a good thing.

Car is looking good man, nice angle for sure
Thanks dude. Still getting there but its finally coming full circle now. The steering angle is nice to have but it also helps having a good suspension setup and tire pressure set right.
