looks amazing man! how did you fix the unibody looked pretty bad!?!?

LoL, I sold the shell to Mustang Village in Pensacola. This was a swap from a Terminator into my 04 GT. I don't have the time or expertise to be able to fix a unibody. I'm a strictly mechanical/electrical person. (Enter MacGruber) :coolman:

So, it was long overdue, but I finally took the car to get tuned. I brought it to the guys at Extreme Performance in Goodyear AZ, they are an awesome shop and know their stuff! Well, after messing with it they got me a safe tune for now. But we suspect the PCM was messed up by the Diablo piggyback chip that was in it when I did the swap. When the programming commands a specific A/F ratio, only one bank does it, the other is going rich. We tried completely reflashing the PCM, and that didn't help. Anyway, the result was 450hp and 466ftlbs to the wheels. Less peak hp, and more peak tq than it was before, but drivability is off the charts! If anyone has seen this issue, and can offer up a suggestion, it would be greatly appreciated.

Awesome job on the swap! That car is definitely a sleeper now!

Hey, thanks man, I've just been updating this thread with all the new things I've been doing to the car. Your's looks pretty damn nice too. That was actually the original color i was looking for. I just happened to find the comp orange for a steal.

A short video of the cobra before I pulled it all apart. Actually this was before I ever saw the car. I had my buddy take the video so I could see it while I was overseas.

Love the build. Im Just starting to get mine ready for the swap in the spring.

I got a 00gt, bought a 01 cobra 4V that i was originally going to turbo but I've picked up a ported eaton swap instead.

Sucks to see that its down and out right now, what your plan for rebuild?

So cool my first mustang was a red 03 gt miss it. That engine is beautiful would love to do a swap on my 03 someday... Always wondered if it matters that my gt is a vert and would need a vert cobra computer /supporting hardware ?

That's awesome be sure to make a thread, I'd like to see it. I actually just bought a crate engine from ford, dropped it in, now she's back on the road with a warrantee.

I'm sure that it would make the swap easier if you did it the way I did and use every inch of wiring out of the donor car, but I'm sure you can make the coupe stuff work. The actual engine and computer stuff doesn't make a difference whether it's a coupe or convertible. That being said, I hope you do it too! This thing is a lot of fun.

Broke a 1/2" adapter with a 3/4" impact trying to get the damn lower blower pulley off.

Ended up using a hot wrench, elbow grease and a 4ft breaker bar to break it loose.

Fabbed a bracket to keep that pesky crank still.

nice build man. So was it the tuning issue that caused the piston failure? Or did you get that taken care of before hand?

Clean! Both before, after and after again.

What Ford Crate Engine did you go with?

Thanks man! I went with this little feller.

Thanks! Yours looks impressive! Well, it seems that my pumps are maxed out, and a 5th gear pull didn't help anything. I'll be upgrading the pumps at least before I try any more shenanigans.
