Mustang PCV Valve Mod

By SID297

This is a first draft, pics are coming soon.

One more step in the quest to prevent oil from entering the upper intake through the PCV system is to replace the stock PCV valve. The problem with the stock valve is that it is open under both positive and negative pressure. The replacement valve is closed under positive pressure, which prevents it from allowing oil to enter the PCV system.

Step 1: Purchase a Ford Motorcraft PCV valve, part number EV-98-B. This can be purchased for less than $7 at any Ford dealer.

Step 2: Locate the stock PCV valve in the passenger side valve cover. While leaving the connected hose attached pull straight up on it, maybe twist a little back and forth, to remove it. Now twist and pull the valve to remove it from the hose.

Step 3: Plug your new valve into the hose and put it back in the valve cover, and you’re finished.
