Thanks Torquer. I copied your post because you mentioned haters, but my post was not meant to be directed at you with my comments (Sorry if it came across that way). They were rhetorical comments for the group.
I meant that I agree that it looks very Camaro compared to the last gen. But, hey it is still a Mustang and that means everything.

That front end is an improvement over the GT500. I never did like that inverted angle look. Pricing should be inflationary from the last CFTP GT500.

I would be in line if they cloned the 2022 Mach 1 with the 5.2 predator engine. I still think that was a sweet looking modern mustang.

I’ve only seen a few new(est) Mach 1s in person and they all looked great.

5.2 predator, 6 speed, non fancy suspension gizmos, try to slide in around 3900 pounds…

It would definitely be at the top of my new Mustang list (which doesn’t currently exist due to financial and lack of interest reasons)

Manufacturing engineer here for Ford, was part of the program development for the DH/SC program. IMO car looks good except for the name plate, it was always a conversation between us the Engineers why not go back and name it "Cobra"... welp above my pay grade.

You kind of have to like it then. Or at least say you do in public.

Honestly, I'm glad they didn't go with Cobra. To me Cobra is an SVT thing. I think Boss would have been better since the Boss was a Ford thing.

Edit: Not sure what happened there with the quote. Weird.

Not at all, I can say I don't like with freedom lol we're just told to not leak anything until the vehicle is launched.

If I understand Fords racing division history correctly, SVT was transformed into Ford Performance, which is now Ford Racing.

Ford Racing -> Ford Motorsports -> SVT Performance -> Ford Performance -> Ford Racing (Current)

Too bad they didn't wrap that hardware inside an interior and exterior that was worthy.

And call it a Cobra, not that the name is that important... But C'mon man. Enough with the Dark Whores.

And cripes, it's so ugly.

I'm with you on that Bob. I would have been pissed if they labeled this car Cobra. Along the same lines of me being pissed about the naming convention of that Mustang Mach E abomination. LMAO!!!!

Not trying to go off track here, but Ford tried (and failed in my opinion) to take the redesigned 2005 Mustang and mimic the 67 fastback. Ford could have been truer to the original design on the 67 in my opinion. That 2005 design kind of lead us to where we are today.

I think Fords next big project should be a project that mimics the 1993 SVT Cobra. Doing a modern day version of the Foxbody would be awesome in my opinion. Start now and have it revealed in 2033. If Ford stays true to the Foxbody design I think it could be an amazing endeavor.

These newer designed cars just don't have any heart and soul. They all look alike. Hence my Camaro reference to this Dark Horse.

Sorry fellas, not trying to be the cranky old man in the room LOL. I've been into Mustangs since I was 16. I'm partial to certain design aspects is all....

This is much more worthy of a performance Mustang. Never liked the original Dark Horse, but this is a proper attempt imo. If it wasn't crazy expensive, I could see myself driving one.

Well, I am often the old guy in the room, but I have never liked the S650 or the dash designed for video games. I also think the body is way too close to Camaro taste for my looks as well. I looked hard at a DarkHorse before buying the 2020 GT500 and even being a track guy, it just never appealed.

The heritage of these cars is so kewl, and Ford has seemingly abandoned it. I understand the decision not to have a Shelby every year, but a Boss 302 or heck a Boss 429 would be quite awesome.

The sticker price of my 2020 was $105,990. The full carbon car will be $135k-140k I think.

I realized I'm not the demographic Ford is looking for anymore a long time ago. Changes are most of us on this board aren't as well. When the S650 dropped there was a definite divide that I could see. I'd say anyone from mid 30's and up that I know isn't a fan. They might like bits and pieces, but for the overall thing, it's meh. The younger crowd loves it. There were a few debates in my garage between my friends and my son's friends.

But at this point I'm ok with it. I'm not shopping for a Ford anymore. Chances are my next ride is going to be rear engine and have a German accent.

I like it, but I'd want a manual. The full body color front end looks much better than the blacked out one.
This is exactly where I'm at. As soon as I saw DCT, I was like "Ok, maybe I should start looking for a low mileage Mach 1 again."
