Yep. The point of the matter is that the best thing you can do (I started doing) is just look at the pictures in the mags. The Articles are usually not even close to what you can expect. Sometimes they get lucky, but most of the time they are off by a long shot.

With all due respect to the Mustangs developed and sold by Ford Special Vehicle Engineering and the Special Vehicle Team between 1993 and 2004, Cobras are two-seat roadsters built by Shelby American during the 1960s. Anything else is something else--no matter how promiscuous Ford was with that hallowed badge over the last three decades.

This is the reason the highly sought Mustangs sold from 1965 through 1970 that bear Shelby's name never were called Cobras, even though that trademark snake logo appeared all over them. And this is the same mindset that underpins the naming--and development--of the first new, legit Shelby Mustang in 35 years. You'll find snake (and SVT) logos all over this one, too--but, officially, it's the Ford Shelby GT 500. No misapplied Cobra branding in sight This quote he gave in the beginning, pretty much lets you know he is biased.

FYI Shelby sold the snake logo to Ford in the 70's and Ford has always had a big part in building these cars. The SVT line of Mustangs are limited production vehicles. It is legit for Ford to use this logo on anything they want, since they own it. So how is the branding misapplied?

The orginal Shelbys were called Shelby Cobra Mustangs or Mustang Shelby Cobras whatever the order that was the long offical name, that's why they have snakes on them. Also when Shelby split with Ford years ago, he got to keep the rights to the name Shelby, however Ford got to keep the name Cobra. I agree that a Cobra is a real Cobra roadster, but the Shelby's were also Cobra's themselves, hense why the modern top end Mustangs were called Cobras, closest thing they had to a Shelby,

I don't agree with the dude i'm just saying this was his attitude or Opinion. I'm well aware of Ford and Shelby's relationship. Like just a few years ago they settled their dispute concerning the Gt350 84' model mustang he said it was his copyright or something to that fact.

In '92 ford had a decision. What to call the next High performance mustang. It was either Cobra, or Michael Bolton. Man I am glad they called it the Cobra. There are one to many Michael Boltons running around.

That 03 test was from a pre-production prototype.. The HP had not even been finalised..
You can compare an article like that, to the articles that MT was running 5 months ago on the GT500..

That latest article from MT was from a production sample, and threfor should be accurate to what we see on the streets.
