Every chance I get. I am 1000000x more efficient and a superior bagger. I see no reason to let those subhumans handle my Groceries.
Subhuman is a tad extreme. The ones where I shop are very nice people.
You hit it with the generational thing. My dad still keeps all his charge slips and adds them up to make sure his credit card bill is correct and then mails the check USPS. I told him you can check that stuff easily every day with an online account but he won't do it. Shrug.

I think its generational.

I would 10000% Take a Kiosk over dealing with some Idiot behind the counter.

"I said no onions."

If I **** it up on the Kiosk, its on ME. And im good with that. I prefer having the responsibility.

I certainly would take that over paying some dipshit 22/hr who cant take a proper fast food order.

You still have idiots filling the order and making the food.

I used the stupid Kiosk, ordered a 3 piece chicken tender meal, and added +1 tender for $1.29.

When my meal came out there was only 3 tenders, and I was billed for 4.

That'll go away when the Robots come into play.

Every human we eliminate reduces the chance of a **** up because some ones busy making a TikToc clip.

Same. The gal I see at winco is always nice. I have to bag my own groceries because it's WinCo.

Same here. I live in a small town of about 1600 people, where most people are friendly and know each other. High school boys have mullets, drive big trucks, it's still very country. The liberal nose-pierced, blue haired BS has not made its way here, yet.

Interesting thing I found regarding this topic....

I was in West Palm Beach in early September visiting pops... and I stopped at a Publix to see what all the fuss was about.... store was immaculate, excellent selection but the workers were like DRONES.... it was beyond creepy.

Is that normal Florida People?

Publix is a decent store. I think it's been inexplicably deified like the chain I shop at, Wegmans. I never worked at a grocery store but I can't imagine it's interesting/engaging work. Reminds me of a guy I knew in Vegas who worked outside one of the casinos opening taxi doors and loading luggage for departing guests. He said it was boring as hell but he jazzed it up by dancing and spinning back and forth from car to car, cracking jokes with customers and singing songs.

Man 2008 was a brutal year for me. I was in the car business selling cars, making good money, multiple car payments, lots of toys paid for by credit cards, an adjustable rate mortgage....really enjoying my 20's. Then out of no where Car industry crashed, my income went down 80%, went backwards on $30k in credit cards, 2 out of 3 cars went backwards, and almost lost the house if it wasent for family steeping in to help.

Luckily I learned my lesson early and have spent the last 24 years getting my act together....telling myself I'll never go through that again. I'm financially ready for pretty much anythinng that may happen.

2022 -2008 =14.

Only issue I have with "robots" taking over people are call centers. It can get pretty damn annoying talking to automated machines.

I mean yeah some people themselves are pretty useless in that department as well but I dont think I have ever dealt with an automated machine that actually worked perfectly fine.

Ha, dealing with car insurance these past two weeks. Gotta love repeating DOB and other things constantly to get through to a real person. Now just keep repeating "agent" till I get a live person.
