The maintenance future maintenance would be address the same regardless of option. If buying that 17 GT SC or a 13/14 GT500 is what would make you happier than SC'ing your current car then go for it!
I am sorry to hear about that, never fun having something bad happen to your car. I wouldn't call RTR wheels expensive. I don't think they make a wheel priced over $320 per, so that is good news in getting the bent wheel fixed. I know you were posting about SC kits for your stang, and this could be a good time to invest in a wider wheel to help accommodate a more traction friendly tire if you are going SC of course. As far as going SC for your current car vs buying a car already boosted, that is your call. You know the status of your car and your life better than us. I am not trying to sway you either way, just playing a little devil's advocate here. If you are taking your car to get looked at/fixed, nothing wrong with that btw, then what is the difference in buying a kit when you will have a shop address the tuning and install for you? The maintenance future maintenance would be address the same regardless of option. From what I can tell the only difference is time (waiting a few weeks vs now) and buying the kit (which you will be putting that money forward anyways in swapping to a car already boosted). If buying that 17 GT SC or a 13/14 GT500 is what would make you happier than SC'ing your current car then go for it! There is no right or wrong answer as long as you're happy and don't put yourself in a bad financial spot, oh and have the ladies approval of course lol.
