I'd seriously consider getting a used Wii instead. Let me explain. I've gamed on a friends R Pi and it works but it loads so slow and the interface just isn't as good as my Homebrew Wii. Wii is 100% Gamecube backwards compatible. You can load Roms into it and it plays them perfectly. I currently have Mario Kart from SNES, N64, Game Cube and Wii all on a harddrive that loads on the Wii. Yes the setup cost more but it's worth it. I spent like $250 for the whole setup and that included the Wii, 4 Wiimotes, 4 Hori battle game pads. The Hori battle pads plug right into the Wiimote so it's a wireless experience. Also N64 emulation on R Pi and Wii sucks ass. However the Virtual Console N64 titles work flawless on Wii. 2 Player MK N64 on R Pi is so laggy & unplayable.
