What's the most money you've spent modifying one particular car?

If it's a ground up build or restoration please note that, so it doesn't skew results.

On my current ACR I've spent $17,000.

Someone told me the other day that I spent a lot of money on my cars... I kinda laughed and said not really.. I know guys that dump six figures without batting an eye.
I'm at $40k just engine long block, trans and axles. Doesn't include wheels, tires, fuel, turbos, tuning and so on. All that little shit really adds up fast.

I think the last time I added up receipts on my 01 Cobra it was in the $16k range. And that was before the F1A went on.

Probably 12k on Raptor #2.
Could of been more.

The lightning could have that beat but I refuse to look back on those times. Ported Eaton, tunes, built shortblock, 2 kenne bells, supporting mods...

Maybe $3K - $4K on my '03 Cobra before I sold it. Not too terrible.

If I were to sum up the money spent on all the cars I've owned, I'd probably pass out.

Hmmmm....

On my 2015 Mustang GT:
Tiger Racing Carbon Hood and paint: $1,700
AP Racing Radi-CAL Brakes: $3,200
Cortex Racing Coilovers $4,000
ARH Headers + Borla Atak Exhaust $2,200
Tune - $700
Forgestar Wheels $1,300
Pilot 4S tires $1,000
Forgeline wheels $4,800
Toyo R888Rs $700(special discount)
BMR sway bars, vertical links $500

Total so far $20,100. I am sure I am forgetting stuff too. I track my car so I go through tires and expensive ferodo pads quick lol

the way I bought and sold used parts (including buying highly modded car and robbing it then selling it as basically stock) I don't know how I'd ever get a good number. My spreadsheet for the insurance company shows all the parts if purchased new and it would be over 40k. I would guess more like 20-25 into it over the 16 years I've owned it which mean "only" around $1600 a year.

Hows that for car guy math?

Wherever the gov't tells me.
Considering I’m on my fourth supercharger set up, 5th set of wheels, 3rd hood, 3rd front bumper, etc., I’d say I’m teetering on the 20-25k mark (if not higher) on my 02 GT. Granted, I’ve made a lot of the money back by selling parts as I switch them out, and I’ve actually profited on 2 of the superchargers. Realistically, I’d say it’s closer to 12-15k all said and done.

I’ve also owned the car for 15 years, so it’s easy to rack up a good chunk of change on mods in that amount of time.

On my 2013 GT500 I was probably close to 25 to 30k in mods, almost a full super snake conversion with a lot's of supporting mods.

Just super chargers (have had 6 different ones) on my 03 I think I am $15k-$20K. Does not count motor, exhaust, 5 different fuel systems.
