The Mobil1 Rebate Program that normally starts April 1st every year, is off until further notice. I contacted their call center at 1-866-249-4307. The rep I spoke to wasn't sure it would even be offered this year. He said the normal fall rebates were just being offered now in the spring.

I was at walmart this morning and was mildly surprised to see that Mobil1 5W-20 & 5W-30 was still at $27.47/5 qt. jug. Same since my post above from last October.

After you paid $24 for a jug of oil, you'd get a rebate check back for $10-$12 back. So 5 quarts for ~$12. It was great.

I was thinking about this just a few weeks ago. I completely understand why they are not doing it, as everytime I go to the auto parts store they are out of at least 1 type of viscosity.

Recently I had to order oil and filters from online as I had 3 strikes trying to find what I needed locally.

Seems to get worse as the days go on.

This sure surprised me. Even though Mobil1 isn't running a rebate, oil is in short supply, and crude prices are high, they still managed to drop the price a couple bucks.

Five quart jugs of Mobil1 5W-20 & 5W-30 just dropped $3 at both amazon and walmart.

From $27.47 to $24.47.

FYI: I ordered 5W-20 & 30 Mobil1 last week from Amazon for $24.47/five quart jug.

Yesterday on Amazon 5W-20 was $47.39/jug, and 5W-30 was unavailable.

I found that Walmart was still charging $24.47/jug. I ordered several more jugs of 5w-20 and 5w-30. Free shipping over $35.

Is this price spike in oil because of a temporary supply issue or is the crude oil price/availability catching up?

It must have been a temporary Amazon supply issue.

This morning 5W-20 was available to order for $24.47, but it'll be 3-7 weeks before I'll get it.

Yesterday the local walmart had an ample supply of Mobil1 jugs of 5W-20/5W-30 (@ $24.47), and Motorcraft 820S/910S oil filters. No Motorcraft 500S oil filters.

IDK, maybe they'll start again in May? I'm too lazy to call.

Maybe it'll be like last year and no rebate/gift card at all.

I did see that the price has recently dropped from $29.97/jug to $26.97/jug at both the local walmart and amazon.



BTW, still don't see any FL500S Motorcraft oil filters on the shelf at Walmart either. I bought a bunch from Amazon a few months ago. When they arrived, I inspected them for authenticity, and they looked legit.

I've been running the Kirkland stuff and just changing it every 3,000 miles. It tests as well as any SP rated oil.
