[QUOTE="Revvv, post: 16184045, member: 189537"] My dad used to have a few customers that had a contract to have their car detailed a couple times a year. It was his way of saying thank you for being a customer. A few months back I did the last detail job for a customer. The shop has been closed for quite a while now, so I was glad to see that part of things come to an end. I could have stopped detailing as soon as the shop closed, but I felt like these people deserved to get what they expected and paid for. Every other week a car would come in and need paint correction due to automatic car washes, people not being careful, and normal everyday bumps and scuffs. I never got into ceramic coatings, just a good coat of carnuba wax. After I hand washed the vehicle, it would be clayed. I would go over the car with my light and a dry erase marker, and point out everything I needed to clean up. From there the fun would begin. I would color match random chips, water sand the spots level, and then take care of any swirls in the paint. I always did a final polish by hand to ensure no flaws were missed. Then I would wax and do the normal interior and exterior dressing. If I had a truck I would likely keep doing this as a side business for a few of the old customers. They no longer have anywhere to bring their car too, so I would have to go to them. If I had a climate controlled garage with a ton of space, it would be a decent way to make a few extra dollars.
