Mccleod adapter ring

So I've been installing my Mccleod rxt. Well when I was tightening the pressure plate nuts with my torque wrench I noticed it kept spinning and spinning.

So when I removed the nut to see what was wrong the while stud came off. It stripped.

How do I get this adapter ring rethreaded? It's made from aluminum. Can I rethread it a different size and use a different size stud? Or should I use a helocoil and use the same stud?

I would call McLeod and see if they'd send a new adapter plate. Seems like a product defect to me.
