Just wondering what the max HP is on 99 Cobra with stock internals?
Anything over 400-450 RWHP and you would be on borrowed time....
03 mach1 here with 466 rwhp. had s.c. on since late april. I've been in the boost alot. And had no problems yet. Met a guy at the woodward dream cruise running 520 rwhp on a stock motor for over a year. I think it depends how its driven and what kind of power adder you use. turbos seem a little softer and twin screws seem a little harsher on the motor.
Me and 01greycobra blew up I have 460RWHP and 01greycobra had 430RWHP, motors didnt last the rest of the summer last year.
Mine lasted 3 weeks and broke two pistons only running 5psi, 390 hp. So you're taking a chance and it is not cheap to rebuild these motors.
so if you wanted to get more power from a 99 cobra.. would u just pull the block out and rebuild it from scratch to not only pack on horsepower, but for it to be strong?
or get 456's :>
This is a very tricky question!!
It can go different way's. First off get the cooling mod that is where i had my problem. However I was running a ported eaton on 14psi pulleys, and fully bolt-oned, On a stock 99 cobra internal's for sometime. But some people dont last to 400whp, Some people get 450 w/o problem's. All in the tune, condition of th motor, ect...
What tune did you use?
Seeing as this thread is from 2008 and he hasn't posted since 2015 I wouldn't hold my breath on getting a response.
