MAS Screen on 5.0?

Has anybody removed the screen on a STOCK 5.0 MAS??

Looks like it would reduce the flow, my 98 4.6 has no screen on the MAS.

I removed the screen on my 5.0 and noticed no difference. Its a bad idea to do so. Its cuts the air coming into the maf so it will be metered by the sensor correctly.
