I ran into some issues with that lower setup that prevented a proper test and in the middle of fixing that I was dealing with the heat created by the 2.9. IAT2s have always been an issue with big twin screws and turning it over hard on the hottest midsummer days caused me to reach temps described earlier in this thread and I just reached the end. Enough is enough. Already notched my hood and had it painted for inlet clearance., had Cobra Engineering make me a custom IAC relocation adapter to the IAC motor would stop smashing my a/c line. Pulled this blower countless times because you can't get to injectors, rails or anything else due to the massive non removable inlet. Decided its time to move on.</p><p></p><p>Eventually I wanted to make the car a twin turbo but not yet. I went high compression, ported heads and all that good stuff but I spec the custom cams for a blower car and degreed them accordingly because I wanted to enjoy the new motor combo as a blower car first. The short lived bursts of 30 PSI on this motor were absolutely phenomenal. 4th gear down the highway and the Mickey Thompsons would lay black lines down the road as long as you wanted.</p><p></p><p>Not wanting to give up the blower setup just yet and dive right into a turbo project on this car I decided to just slap a TVS on and call it a day. I ran into some issues with that lower setup that prevented a proper test and in the middle of fixing that I was dealing with the heat created by the 2.9. IAT2s have always been an issue with big twin screws and turning it over hard on the hottest midsummer days caused me to reach temps described earlier in this thread and I just reached the end. Enough is enough. Already notched my hood and had it painted for inlet clearance., had Cobra Engineering make me a custom IAC relocation adapter to the IAC motor would stop smashing my a/c line. Pulled this blower countless times because you can't get to injectors, rails or anything else due to the massive non removable inlet. Decided its time to move on. Eventually I wanted to make the car a twin turbo but not yet. I went high compression, ported heads and all that good stuff but I spec the custom cams for a blower car and degreed them accordingly because I wanted to enjoy the new motor combo as a blower car first. The short lived bursts of 30 PSI on this motor were absolutely phenomenal. 4th gear down the highway and the Mickey Thompsons would lay black lines down the road as long as you wanted. Not wanting to give up the blower setup just yet and dive right into a turbo project on this car I decided to just slap a TVS on and call it a day. Still waiting on the inlet elbow as it was back ordered but I anticipate less heat and more drivability and not breaking lowers every 400 miles :) Yeah I'll give up about 10 PSI but at this point I'll take the trade so I can enjoy the car for a while.
