I am looking for machine shops you trust in Texas (I am close to Austin, but will travel for good work) which use/have their own 4.6 4v Torque Plates and are careful enough to work on Ford modular engines. I know if you don't have a torque plate (ideally on both sides at the same time), you can be off because of the distortion that takes place when bolting heads on resulting in lower compression. Plenty of good shops, but not all have torque plates which is required. Also this is a budget build, not a dream build. So need good work at an affordable/fair rate vs sending it off out of state.
Also I am considering for someone to build the short block, but want to start with the
machine shop options first.
Thanks in advance.
