Disclaimer: I’m not an E-Vehicle fan.

Battery life and charge time will/should improve over time.

This... I'll for sure own one in my life time. Makes perfect sense for my commute and we charge free at work via solar. There is traffic so the drive blows anyway but only like 15 miles. Still will always own an ICE car even if I have to setup a still and make my own E to run the thing.

@Black02GT, my wife and I work literally 7 minutes from our house. We work together. An electric car for commuting would make sense for us, although my plan is for us to retire in 5 years. At that point, no more commuting to work. LOL.

With electric cars you pre pay the fuel (battery). After 10 years the fuel will need to be purchased again all at once. Also at that time electric motors and components will need to be replaced. I don’t see any money savings. All I see is a game of hot potato as the car gets older and it’s value deteriorates to perhaps less than zero (battery recycling fee)

Yep, and its being forced. It wasn’t chosen by the free market.

Phasing out ICE is not happening by 2035 either. Unless the intent is to only allow ride sharing, public transportation and those privileged enough to own a car. Which I actually do think is the actual plan. Its control

One plus of electric cars is the motors will retain their same performance over their lifetime. If they don't have infant failures they'll have consistent performance for 500k miles or more, with no degradation. Might need to replace the bearings along the way (and hopefully they make them bearings serviceable).

Ford still makes multiple ICE Mustang models and now the ‘Mustang’ Mach e. Take your pick, but you won’t since you’re not in the market for either, but when it comes to whining about what you think is best for real customers you’re all in. So can we get back to discussing how the Mustang GT isn’t special enough for you but the GT500 is too expensive, what is ‘wrong with Ford’?

Someone should of told my electric crown lift truck that. I got 5 years before failure. Heat, cold, humidity and all the other real world conditions make me lol at the 500k. We will see. My guess is this “Mustang” is vaporware in 5-8 years as batteries and electronics fail out of warranty. Not passing this junk to your kids. Maybe a good thing.

Tesla’s reliability is shit. I don’t care what some politically motivated article or person claims. You want to buy electric cars that’s terrific just don’t ever expect me to. I never will even if they are faster and become more reliable than petroleum. I will never comply. I will always do the opposite of what people like aoc wants me to do.
Don’t get mad. And don’t tell me what I need to do because I don’t care what you do.

My thing with electric is that if they think oil is a finite source then how the hell do they rationalize or think there is enough materials and special metals in the world to supply batteries for enough cars to replace every ICE vehicle on the road, or even half of the ICE vehicles on the road? At least how do they rationalize that they can do this without creating a different impact on the Earth as we strip it of its resources?

Weird how they compare a what, $60k+ offering to a ~$35k offering.

I can almost guarantee there will be a recycling fee when you buy an electronic car and when you want to get rid of it. Much like they do now with Tv and along with other certain electronics. Also we have a Tire fee when you buy new and a tire fee to get rid of them. Must be a Ca thing

That's battery related, not motor related.
