Electric Ford Mustang Mach-E GT launches with more power than V8-powered Mustang GT!
    Fox News - 5/1/2021

I found this on Fox News this morning. I'm posting the link below because it contains an interesting video interview.
Electric Ford Mustang Mach-E GT launches with more power than V8-powered Mustang GT

The high-performance electric Mustang Mach-E GT utility vehicle is now available for order and offers more power and quicker acceleration than the V8-powered coupe.

The all-wheel-drive Mach-E GT is rated at 480 hp, which is 20 hp more than the Mustang GT's V8 provides.

It's also offered in a Performance Edition that bumps the torque up to 634 lb-ft. That outshines the supercharged Mustang Shelby GT500 by 9 lb-ft.

Program director Dave Pericak said the Mach-E GT features two identical motors rather than using a less powerful front motor like the other all-wheel-drive Mach-Es,w which top out at 346 hp.

The Mach-E GT also gets a retuned suspension, upgraded brakes and 20-inch wheels with wider 245-series all-season tires.

According to Ford, it can cover 250 miles per charge and accelerate to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds, but the Performance Edition is even quicker than that.

It'll do the job in 3.3 seconds, but has a range of just 235 miles per charge. Both due in part to its set of stickier Pirelli P-Zero summer performance tires.

The Performance Edition also gets uniquely styled wheels, computer-controlled adaptive shocks, Brembo front brake calipers and unique grey upholstery for its deep bucket seats.

Both also have a unique drive mode called Unbridled Extend that cranks up the digitally-enhanced motor noise, loosens up the stability control and balances the power output so it stays consistent over a long lapping session, which is something electric sports cars aren't always great at.

Pricing for the GT starts at $61,000 and the Performance Edition at $66,000. Both currently qualify for the full $7,500 federal electric car tax credit and deliveries are scheduled to begin in the fall.

20% of owners of Power Wheels have returned to ICE vehicles because of the inconveniences associated with range and keeping charged.

New study explains why nearly 20 percent of electric car owners return to gas

Keep in mind that these people bought full well knowing and wanting the Power Wheels experience, and went all in, emotionally invested, to live that e-vehicle life. They gave up and had to admit defeat because it was a PITA to own one of these turds.

    None for me, thanks.

Katlyn Jenner could have bigger tits than Jennifer Aniston, I still wouldn't want to **** him. But if that ever changes than yeah I might be a Mach-e buyer.

When the govt mandates all electric vehicles...you can imagine the cost of the power bills. This electric crap is nothing more than a conspiracy to put oil out- and create monopoly on electric...How will electric be generated? Certainly not off just solar and other "green" sources..Who in our govt today drives electric??? I ask this because I have not seen or heard of any politician driving green

That's exactly what's going to happen. I pay 6c a kw/h to charge at work and 8c off peak at home. The only reason I drive the thing is because it saves $500 a month in gas bills. It loses its appeal really quick if I'm not saving money

I'm trying to imagine vacationing with kids out West and having to stop for an hour or more to recharge. I think of the volume going through those travel centers now, and wonder where all the EV charge stations will go, since the gas pumps won't go anywhere for a long time.

The road from Medora, ND to Rapid City, SD is a WHOLE lot of Americana with like one gas station with 2 pumps in between. Wonder what the line will be at the single EV charge station, if they put one in!?

When you can charge an EV just as fast as putting fuel in the tank, then maybe I will consider it. But that’s not a definite maybe.

Don't forget to cut that range in half anytime temps go below freezing. My province just announced a $150 annual fee on all EV's to help pay for road maintenance (since they aren't paying fuel tax). What do you think any state/province is going to do if/when EV's actually start to reduce gas tax revenues? They're going to tax electricity or the owners directly, resulting in net zero savings for EV owners.

Should be atleast $1000 annual. Since they need gas tax which is a huge amount of money.

    That’s no mustang.

In my entire life I will never own an electric car. Ever. Let the government mandate it.
If they mandate the vaccine I’m not getting that either.

Imagine the Test levels of a man vaccinated and driving an electric car.

Pass. I'm fine being slower to 60. At least I get a whole experience doing it. Tires screaming, blower whining, pipes singing... And I can still get more than 235 to the tank.

Mach E - Not my Mustang

235-250 miles per charge is not impressive. Highlights Ford's battery tech is substantially behind some of the recognized leaders.
