93 LX 4cyl. swap for 5.0 Questions.

How much would need to be invested if I were to drop a 5.0 (not stock) into a LX 4cyl. foxbody? Would it hurt the chassis. I was gonna buy a 8.8 or 9in to put in the rearend and subframe connectors. What other major things would I need? (or would it be wiser to find a roller chassis of a GT?).

Basically, asking what all would I need to do the engine swap and allow the car to hold up to the 500hp im gonna be putting down?

Thnx,

Matt

The body itself is the same be it a 4cyl or a 8cyl no change in how the car was built at the factory.

Will you be doing a carb or EFI engine?
Is this 500rwhp or at the flywheel?
You going for a hatch or coupe?

You can stay with the 8.8 since its a drop in deal the 9" is not needed. You would be better off with 8cyl roller if you plan on staying EFI.If its just a carb car then a upgrade in brakes is all you really need like calipers, booster, master cyl, rotors, drums etc etc so a 4cyl body will do.Add subframe connecters and a 4/6 point cage also

4cyl to EFI
FULL brake upgrade
motor mounts and trans cross member
wiring harness
fuel lines
dash cluster
just to name a few things
