Most of the people on this site are probably middle aged and up, just the demographic for people who have the time and money to buy toy cars. That said, most like myself have lived through the doldrums of the 70's. We had basically lost a war, every outlet was preaching the inevitability of global communism. We cowered as the Japanese showed us how to make things, the Middle East showed us how fragile our energy supplies were, and entertainment was the inevitability of nuclear war if we didn't back down. Petty third world countries held our citizens and our military burned in the desert trying to rescue them. One day a ray of sunshine bored through the overcast, Ronald Reagan was elected. Love him or hate him, there is no denying that he woke us up and got the nation moving. He made the hard calls, spent the money (nearly bankrupting us) and drove the Soviets down. America had once more gained the high ground, we had shown that our grit and belief in freedom would conquer all. This went on for a while, it survived Bill Clinton because he was basically just nibbling at the edges of progressiveness. Bush came along and had a major wake up call from the ME that unified the country again. All the while the Progressives were getting steamed that nobody was listening to them. Obama came in and the progressives cheered that it was finally their time. It wasn't, Obama didn't do shit for his supporters. Now comes Trump and the progressives are in a lather. How could this Cro-Magnon beat the sainted Hillary? Their painful boil that has been growing every time they make a loan payment on their useless college degree only got worse when the country went into lock down. Now they are out, BLM, Antifa, Queer Nation, DNC, etc throwing a major hissey fit. Most of the members remember the shit times and don't want to go back there. There is no good reason for this to be going on. Some cops killed a man as casually as you would change a light bulb. They have been charged with the crime, the system works. What has happened since is orchestrated chaos to bring the nation down. So when law enforcement uses laws that Obama put in place to drag these people in, we don't get in a huff. If the Feds decide to machine gun the entire crowd.....that would be wrong but I could get over it.
