So i lost a key to my 13' mustang. Id like to find an affordable blank, but im sure i have to get it cut and programmed at a ford dealer, is that correct? Has anyone found an affordable or efficient way to do this?
Yep, you have to go to the dealer and get raped. You can reproduce as many keys as you like, if you have two. I programmed an ebay flip key for my ride, after paying to have the second key done at the dealer, as the PO only provided me with one.
If your set on a FOB key a local locksmith will save you a few bucks. I went with one when I recently bought my 5.0, it only came with one key. I got a regular type chip key (no remote buttons) cut and programmed to the car for $60 as a spare.
