I'm looking for a good daily driver. I would rather have a brand new car that is rear well drive. I don't want a total piece of crap but nothing expensive. I was thinking Honda Civic, Chevy Cruz for a little while but they are front wheel drive cars. I want something that is reliable, easy on maintenanc and gas. Power isn't a huge concern really so a 4 banger or 6 er is fine for me. What what would you guys get? I'm just now jumping into this and wanted to get some outside knowledge from people in the know.

I would really want a Subaru but they are so expensive. A hatchback would be nice. I like those the Focus too. But any way, of you guys know of any good deals going on right now? Any pointers?

What is your budget? Want something sport oriented or just a commuter?

4 or 6 cyl new cars are typically going to be FWD or FWD based AWD. One notable exception would be the cadillac ATS.

Yeah your budget is going to determine what you can buy, but a turbo ats would be nice. Caddy cant give them cars away so you should be able to pick them up pretty cheap and they handle better than the 3 series.

I love our little 2015 civic. $25 to fill the tank and she gets 40mpg on the highway. it's perfect, unless you need a shit load of room like a SUV lol

I just picked up a 2014 Taurus SHO, can get them for a good deal. They are almost 50k new, I paid $23k with 27k miles on it and every option they have available with the performance package. It is a super comfortable driver with a very refined cabin, tons of room and enough power to have fun with. They are however FWD based with AWD when it feels it needs it. Look at the Chevy SS if RWD is a must or as already stated the Cadillac.

For under $25K, a Taurus SHO or Lincoln MKS EcoBoost are hard to beat with a tune and are a lot of bang for the buck. If you're stuck on something smaller and more efficient, a newer Mazda 3 would be a solid choice.

Here's my pig. 2012 Lincoln MKS EcBoost with the EAP option. Running a tune/3-bar from Livernois and she moves well.

I decided to buy a regal gs last year that is within your budget. I drove a focus st and wasn't impressed. Cramped inside and too much torque steer for the little car. I always liked the sho but little bigger then I really needed. So instead I got a regal gs 2.0L turbo 270 hp/295 tq, brembos, all your creature comforts, heated seats, nav, etc etc it is fwd but you can them in awd. Some aftermarket parts and tunes are available if you want more HP. Also as mentioned above get an ats they still come in rwd although they have had some engine issues with the newer ones blowing pistons lol

There's a photo of mine. Needs a little lowered, some more HP and different color calipers but overall I've really like it for a good daily!

Can't go wrong w/a Civic or Accord. My wife has an '11 Accord w/130k on it and it still drives like new- awesome, dependable car.

For me tho, I'd get a '15-17 Volkswagen GTI- bee's knees of small cars, lots of pep, performance and utility.

Looks like a good find. In a year or so I'm going to look at pre-owned 17 Fusion Sports but spending less on an SHO that is a couple years older is definitely something I will keep in mind.

I don't think you can go wrong with a SHO. It's a luxury vehicle. I've had two 3.5EB vehicles and both have been rock solid, and both tuned and beat on hard.

We picked up a 2016 Honda Civic EX-T last June for the wife's work car. Great new styling, 1.5L Turbo with digital display, 30/42 gas mileage, FWD, and good resale. I am impressed with the car so far...as little as I get to drive it.

I bought a Subaru Crosstrek two years ago. Absolutely amazing car that gets good gas mileage, and has plenty of room. I think I got a good deal on it, 26k out the door new. They have used ones that are cheaper obviously. Once I get about 150k on this one, Im going to buy another one. Its at 58,000 miles already. We drive it everywhere.

Lol,
I gave $3500 for an 03 SVTF with 89K miles for my beater.
I put a little TLC in her and right now I'm at 108K and loving it.
Screw 25K for a DD. Never again.
I wanted one but never could find them locally or for a deal
