Creative marketing for sure. Three back to back runs inside a garage with front of truck up against the wall is far more stress than the truck running a quarter mile pass with fresh air running across the intercooler.

Did it work in keeping temps down under the same conditions, absolutely, but for them to say it added 60hp is a stretch.

Yeah, saying it "added" 60hp is marketing speak. In reality, it is ensuring that your F150 EB truck doesn't LOSE power due to heat.

Baselines:
#1 318whp
#2 295whp (drop of 23whp)
#3 266whp (drop of 52whp)

Pulls with Livernois intercooler:
#1 326whp (increase of 8whp from baseline #1 pull)
#2 315whp (drop of 11whp from first pull with intercooler)
#3 318whp (drop of 8whp from first pull with intercooler)

Saying you gain 60hp is a real stretch. Truth is, it prevents/reduces heat related power loss.

The stock intercooler heat soaks rapidly. I had similar results on my eco mustang with a blower fan blowing on the intercooler on the dyno. No tune, just intercooler and catch can.

Look in the ceiling above the hood of that truck. There's a directional air mover system that make it feel like a hurricane in that dyno cell. It's nuts.

Understood but still wonky that they are saying it adds 60hp. Like Bob said, prevents heat soak loss of up to 60hp.

I assume the Raptor has something substantially different for an IC? I made 3 passes hotlapping the truck last week in 85*, truck went the fastest on the last pass.

Bob nailed it. Intercooler is an insurance item, not a power adder in the traditional sense.

Exactly. An intercooler prevents HP loss. New math......

Just to chime in:

The intercooler does very little in terms of PEAK power, however when we are talking about real time back to back pulls it gains back 60 hp that the car has to take out. Cooler air charges allow more power to be made and having a more efficent intercooler allows it to keep the air cool longer.

this kit is also a simple bolt on kit, and has fantastic fitment. it uses all OEM hardware
it is 1.5 inches bigger than stock and flows 80% more air. anyone with an ecoboost f-150 will definitly notice a diffrence if you slapped this on especially during a hot summer day

Thank you for clarifying what this mod actually does....adds back 60hp lost to heat. Plain and simple. No denying that is a good thing, and some will want this mod.
