I purchased the shortblock off an S197forum member (nycmikie1) new, still wrapped in plastic from Livernois. I had it installed with used heads by a shop and there was an issue with the lash adjusters making noises. The car was only ran for a brief period to troubleshoot the heads. The motor was pulled and the heads and shortblock were inspected. There was not a mark on the motor or the heads but the lifters were replaced anyways along with the addition Livernois cam lockouts. The motor was reinstalled and the noise from the head still exists. The motor was pulled again and a stock 3v was installed while I was shopping for a new set of heads. I sold the car to buy my 03 Cobra, so I have no more use for the motor.
