Pickup Tune
Livernois Motorsports expands its MyCalibrator line to tune Ford’s 2.7 truck

Looking for more oomph from your 2.7-liter EcoBoost, well the tuning gurus at Livernois Motorsports have something for you. The company recently expanded its line of MyCalibrator handheld tuners to include the potent little engine option in Ford’s modern trucks.

“Our MyCalibrator tuner combined with our proprietary tuning software we have more access, more experience, more tuning support, more parts support and far more world records to back us up than any other tune provider in the marketplace,” says the company.

That’s a bold statement, but the Livernois Motorsports 2015-2016 Ford F-150 2.7-liter EcoBoost Tuner (PN LPP631127; $599.99) is said to offer gains of as much as 80 horsepower and 65 lb-ft of torque on a stock truck thanks to adjustments in the air/fuel ratio, timing tables and more. They tuning also firms the shifts and reduces torque management while enhancing throttle response.

You watch see the MyCalibrator in action here…

Livernois achieves these results by thoroughly revamping the calibration by mapping the boost, fuel and timing parameters. They also adjust the rev and speed limters and rein in the factory torque management. The device allows users to store up to four calibrations, which allows you to have one of Livernois’ Towing Tunes on hand to boost bottom-end performance when you need it

If this tuner sounds good to you, there’s more. Owners of MyCalibrator devices receive Lifetime Tuning Support, so custom tune adjustments or updates for your device are free of charge! For more on the 2.7 MyCalibrator, you can check out Livernois’ own thread on our forum here.

Not only does the MyCalibrator deliver performance gains at the rear wheels, but it sharpens the shifts, reins in the factory Torque Management and generally improves the driving experience. It also stores four calibrations and comes with Lifetime Tuning support.

Would you like to add over 70 horsepower and nearly 60 lb-ft of torque to your stock 2015-2015 2.7-liter F-150? If so, that’s just what Livernois Motorsports’s MyCalibrator promises did for this truck. In fact, the company has already revised its tunes to produce even more horsepower as you can see here.

The 2.7L EcoBoost is a surprising little engine. Gets great mileage and makes good power. A Livernois tuner is definitely icing on the cake. I would not hesitate to pick one up.

Man, those are some huge gains.

Any thoughts on potential durability concerns down the road? Those gains over stock are crazy (25% over stock). Either Ford severely de-rates these engines for future power bumps, or the tuning really bites into the safety margin. I realize that is a really tough question to answer, as everyone's driving habits are different.

We have never, do not currently nor will we ever purposely tune past the safe limits of a platform. Keep in mind that any FI platform is going to have huge gains post tuning. CafeCARB and emissions regs will always pigeon-hole the OEM's. They have to meet all kinds of crazy averages so they make sure that this is done by manipulating the base calibration.

serious gains on the 2.7. Do you guys offer something similar for the 5.0 and 3.5 engines?

We most definitely do! Most of the NA F150 builds that we do are Raptors, but we do 5L too!

The only thing I do not like about tuning the new F150 is losing the Sport, Normal, and Tow/Haul modes. I know it is dumb.

is this true Livernois?

No that is not true at all! We do not eliminate ANY of the factory drive modes, ever. You can still use sport, normal or tow/haul modes whenever you would like to. We do not recommend towing on a performance tune because we build additional logic and safeties into a tow tune that performance tuning does not have.

Really nice gains. Looking forward to the fusion sport tune.

Thanks for the compliments, we appreciate it! We are very excited about the FSport, but with the workload that we have currently we have yet to be able to get finalized tuning taken care of. We are working hard to clear up space for getting that tuning released.

It was something I had read somewhere from a person running a tune. Can you keep the transmission modes on a 15 3.5?

Like I said, we do not eliminate ANY of the factory drive modes. You keep all of the transmission modes that your vehicle comes with.

How much for a tuner and a tune specific to my desires? I am not looking for gobs of more power. I am more for sharpening up the truck.

Go here and find your vehicle: http://www.livernoismotorsports.com/

I got my tunes from LMS last night and will be installing my plugs/3-bar tonight and load the tunes if time allows. Service is insanely fast. I bought a used MyCal last week, called yesterday morning and after dinner I had the device updated with the tunes. Will update with my impressions once I pull it all together.

We do not charg you per tune or for a "pack of tunes" like everyone else. All that you have to do is purchase our MyCal tuner. When you do so you get all of our tunes, our tuning revision updates AND our tuning support for most mods that you will ever add onto your truck! We do not limit your purchase value to the initial transaction, 30 days later or ever. If you add on a CAI that requires your tune to be adjusted next week, it's free. You buy a 160* tstat next month, your update is free! IF YOU BUY DOWNPIPES IN 2 YEARS...YOUR UPDATE IS FREE! Why would we need to be continually in your pocket forcing you to fork over more money when we have already built your custom tuning base files? CRAZINESS!
