Surprised we haven't mentioned these "free" mods yet: Tire Pressure... Lower the rear tire pressure at the dragstrip for better grip...in addition, some guys actually increase the front for better rolling resistance. The correct pressure depends on your particular set up and or tires. If you're running the same tires you drove to the track on...make sure you bring them back to the stock pressure setting for the ride home!!! http://www.ehow.com/how_2296180_check-tire-pressure-before-drag.html Ice the Intake... I use to do this a lot back in my 5.0 days. While cooling off the car in the pits, I would throw a bag of ice on the intake to cool down the intake temps. In addition, I used to bring some ice water and a hand towel/rag to wipe down the intake. Last but not least, bring a spray bottle to hose down the H/E and radiator while the car is sitting. It is important to make sure all the water has evaporated before making your run...the last thing you want is water on the track to impede your traction as well as others!!! http://www.musclemustangfastfords.com/tech/0301_MMFFcatch22/photo_02.html Pack the I/C tank with ice... If you're runnin' a large capacity I/C tank like PFAB, LFP or Canton, pack it full of distilled water and ice. Re-fill it throughout the day to help keep the intake temps low for increased power!!!
