nice thread. subscribing.
This mod is cheaper than an aftermarket quadrant and it really works!!! Sure you can still adjust your clutch after doing this mod, it just changes it to a manual process.
Why would you want to do this??? How about improved shifting for starters...check out this link, it's a complete "How-To" with pictures!!!
Check out this T-stat...looks like the best of both worlds:

Thanks for the informative post and link to our site Dave!
You got it...
+1 to add a very cheap and easy door mod:
Buy 20 bucks of crap at Home Depot, install in your door and presto, cheap and easy sound deadening that won't mold, disintegrate, or cost you a fortune.
thanks for the info

Man, this thread should be a sticky. A lot of great info, tips and mods here. I don't normally bump an older thread up, but this is an exception IMO.
Thanks for the bump Bob...
I must admit...much of the technical data was "borrowed" from your link/web-site...as a tribute to you I made the first link of the thread to your "Cobra Facts" page. Hope you didn't mind?
I had my Cobra for about 3 years but moved back into another Fox-Body. I'm thinking about making another thread with the same format as this but for Fox-Bodies...not just 5.0's but all Fox-Bodies?
I know this is an old thread, but I LOVE IT!!!!! This has to be one of the best threads I have read so far! SCT2003, Your the MAN! I have my next two days off planned with a few cheap mods!! This is by far the best forum!
Did you just tell us to add weight?.........:bash:
AMAZING THREAD! Some of the link are outdated though
Sorry...life has got me a little pre-occupied these days...I'll try to check the links as time permits but by all means let me know which links are bad and I'll remove or replace them when I can.
Posted this in the New Edge forum since I have a '99, but thought I'd post it here for you guys too - whole project cost less than $20, maybe $30 if you don't have wire and crimps laying around :
