All these blowers will make heat and heat soak. One of the reasons you see more whipples and vmp blowers on these cars is because for years now these companies have run sales with 10-15% off at least once if not more times a year. KB has ran a sale twice as far as ive ever known in years.

I picked up my brand new 2.8 KB for cheap on EBay in the summer of 2022. I’ve never seen it that low. $3,600

The TVS has a removable inlet and last I knew had way better pulley options (available in .1" increments). I think the KB allows blower removal while keeping the intercooler in place which is kind of a bonus. The 2.65 Tvs and the big whipples hit 800rwhp, you don't hear that much out of KB.

I have never had a KB, so I don’t intend to bad mouth them. I have had two cars with Whipples and one with a VMP. The primary factor that turned me off from KB is that it seems a large majority have been rebuilt, or need to be. If you look at for listings for used KBs, a lot of them say the blowers have been rebuilt, yet don’t have many miles. I don’t know why this is, but rarely see this with Whipples or VMPs. My perception is that they have OEM-like reliability.

KB 3.6 Liquid Cooled here in my 2013 Widebody SS..........Never no issues with heat soak or timing being pulled while cruising or spirited driving in 90 degree + temps. There quality SC and wouldnt hesitate to buy another one. Ive run numerous data logs in this SS and never had heat issues. The SC whine in these are second to none! NOTE: Its important that your intercooler/heat exchanger are adequate to keep these cool.

Kind of an old post but
Having been in the company of a variety of Terminator or Shelby platforms and all of them having different blowers, I would base my opinion off the following...

Kenne Bell - Heatsoak . Toaster oven type
Customer service terrible unless your calling to buy and spend
Wins at car shows for best appearance

Whipple - ya, not what they use to be
Runs cooler, looks good. Non car people associatie a Whipple sticker with the car making 1000+ horsepower.

VMP - Are they still around?

I have a 2.8LC KB on my 89' Saleen racecar.
Has a 8.2 deck SBF that was 358 cid.
At 20 psi the car went 5.33 @ 134 in the 1/8 mile, on a 26 X 8.5 Hoosier @ 3,200 lbs.
Engine is now 365 cid. I have a 4.2LC KB sitting on the work bench.
It will be interesting to see what it does.
I was over-spinning the 2.8 (24K rpm) trying to make more boost, but no matter what, it is done at 20 psi with perfect weather.
The 4.2 should make 40 psi, but my engine internal are probably only good for 30 psi.
Also switching to a 275 DR.

To me personally, it's always KB, KB & terminator are signature, anything else is just a preference.

Now that being said, anyone have pictures of how KB LC hooked up?
Trying to see if there is a way to avoid hook it to the intercooler reservoir since you can run ice or interchiller with KB LC.

I run a separate reservoir, pump (Bosch) and Setrab heat exchanger for mine. My car is not a Termintor though, just a Foxbody.

Get an FI Interchiller if ur afraid of heat soak...... Its a no-brainer on anything with a blower these days.

U missed the point, u can't run the LQ with that, u will damage the supercharger.

I was thinking to do that too, a separate tank & pump. Could you please share a pic of your setup?
I will try to get out to the garage this weekend and get some pics.
We are having 15 people over for Thanksgiving, so there will be a lot of clean up/putting away of stuff going on. Right now the nose is off the car, so I will probably have to put it back on to get pics of what it looks like assembled. If not, I will try and get pics of the components involved.

Here are a few pictures I took.
All these parts were sourced independently. There was no "kit".

Here is a picture of the Setrab cooler from the backside of the bumper cover.
-10 AN feed and -6 AN out. I wanted as much free flow going to the cooler and pump as possible since the pump is gravity fed. The Bosch water pump was sourced from a online search for "water/air intercooler pump"

Here is a picture of the -6AN hoses to/from the S/C and reservoir I mounted to the front frame rail. Found this tank with a built in bungs from Canton Racing Products. Then it was just a matter of location/mounting/plumbing as could be accommodated and do what I needed done.
