After attending the SVTOA On-Track event in Indy this past weekend, I'm hooked; I want to start auto-crossing my '03. The problem is it's a convertible; I'm learning that either coupes or verts with rollover protection are typically allowed to run such events. Convertibles without rollover protection are usually (almost always) not allowed.
I really don't want to install the typical 6 point roll bar in my car, but was curious if there is some sort of 'light bar' which is not only cosmetic, but offers real roll over protection (is rated for roll over protection)? I've heard that the roll over hoops which come with the Honda S2000 and Audi TT convertible are allowed to run auto-cross as they offer roll over protection.
