"Lifter" tick in csvt

I know we don't have "lifters"
But anyone mine are ticking. I've heard that these cars don't do their best with thick oil. Before being informed about this I added Lucas to my oil to quiet the "lifter" tick. It seemed to get louder after adding this. Should do an oil change with thinner oil? Would this possibly get rid of the tick?

I don't know about that. What I do know is I had this problem before, except the noise would come and go. One moment the motor sounded great, then all of a sudden it would start "ticking" real loud. I took it to my friends shop and we could tell which head it was coming from. I bought 12 new ones off of rockauto.com, he installed them, and the "tick" was gone. That was a few years back now.

These engines do have hydraulic lifters, they're also notorious for issues with oil starvation so it's possible the trouble you're having is due to that.

Original 2.5 in the car?
