I keep reading stories that are popping up left and right about recent criticism over his appointed cabinet members thus far or lack of far left/progressive choices.

Also recently been reading he's been moving away from certain policies or actions he made comments on taking during his presidential campaign run.

What do some of you democratic svt'ers think on these acusations. Some say it's to early to make such criticism.

So far he seems to be more aligned with moderate to even a slight conservative state of mind or view. Nothing remotely far left as far as policy issues or picks.

He's talked about creating a further drawn out Iraq plan. Instead of reversing Bushs tax cuts he's simply going to let them expire in 2010. He seems to be changing his stance on taxing Oil companies windfall profits.

To those more educated or read upon these issues discuss?

True. But it seems a growing concern among far leftest who thought he was going to run an administration that was far left as far as a political agenda goes.

He won't do that. He is a lot smarter and a lot less liberal than most think.

Well then it's going to be another long four year for any far left/progressive/liberal politician or voter as they're going to feel left high and dry by Obama.

noone can win from the far left. Obama has made some smart decisions in his cabinet decisions IMO.

Rush Limbaugh, Newt Gingrich, Bill Bennett & many other staunch conservatives seem to agree.

He pissed off the far leftists? He does not care, he has them in his HIP POCKET & he knows that. These uber-leftists will just have to suck it up & STFU!

Exactly, no matter how many conservatives Obama elects the far-lefts will continue to vote Dem because they would commit mass suicide before voting Republican.

I have to agree, i think that he realized that if he wants to accomplish anything since alot of people are pissed off anyways, that he has to get away from the extreme liberal side of things.

i think it's a good move on his part. his ideas of bringing the country together might just work if he keeps this up.

He played off of Bush and used the people's current unhappiness with the republican party by saying exactly what he needed to to get elected. Now that he is actually president, he can change his policy ideas to something a little less crazy than what he spewed during his campaign. It's still pretty early to tell about a lot of this stuff though.

Actually, as I recall, it was the conservatives who said Obama was extremely liberal. Something about being the most liberal member of congress, and a socialist, and some other stuff.

And every bit of that was nothing but Republican lies and deception. A pure and simple attempt to deceive and scare the American people into NOT voting for Obama.

Their negative campaigning back fired. In fact, I think it cost McCain the election.

That being said, Obama is Obama. He is his own man. And though he certainly must have some political debts he acquired in his climb to the top, I believe Obama has crafted his position surprising free of obligations to craft his policies based on anything other than what he truely and deeply believes is best for this country.

There is an old saying: "You can't argue with sucess." If Obama dramatically improves the state of the economy and our international posture, I don't think he will need to worry about re-election.

His voting record speaks for itself. How can you argue with a voting record? The economy usually has a way of fixing itself eventually. If it happens under Obama's turn of course he is going to get all of the credit. (Deserving or not)

You think you can read the last page of a book and know the entire story? Sorry, but it doesn't work that way. Judging someone solely on their voting record is silly. :rollseyes

It is important to understand WHY someone voted the way they did. Not voting for a tax cut bill because it is full of pork barrell spending is very different from not voting for a tax cut bill because you want high taxes.

This is but one of a zillion examples! Don't be so simple minded!

I'm not a liberal so you don't have to worry about that. In this case, what else do we have to go on? And if you could please cite about 300 billion more examples I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

You are not welcome. Do your own homework. And while you are at it, do your own thinking. That way wont have to adopt as your thinking points, Sarah Palin's talking points.

Oh, by the way, Africa isn't a country. Its a continent. :rollseyes

Still waiting on those examples to be cited. There are sources of information outside of NBC, ABC, CNN, etc. Learn something new every day, don't you?

Then I must assume you are incapable of doing your own homework, as I suggested you do. This certainly explains why you adopt the party line fed to you by Fox & Friends.

And yes, I make it a point to learn each and every day. You should try it!
