Here's my basement that I finished myself a few years ago. I started out with nothing but concrete block walls and a basement that would flood. The walls are insulated with XPS R10 and I dug out the floor in the bathroom into the back room for a sewage ejector pump. I figure I have 13k-15k total into the basement in material. Labor was free. Total area is 950 Sq-ft. I'm a mechanical engineer and did this in my 20's.
