So I have decided to Cage my car so i can run in the 9's legally.

I know it has to be a 6 point with the roof bars.

Has anyone done this with stock dash?

Post up those pics!

I ran an MM 6 point with swing outs and it was only legal to 9.99@135. im currently having a custom 10point chromoly cage installed. all factory interior, dash, carpet, center console, the works. only thing not factory is rear seat delete which isnt due to the cage, and Corbeau seats also not due to the cage. Ill post pictures once its done. the MM cage was fantastic, loved it. i powdercoated it black and it looked great, fitment was awesome, and with the door bars out, you couldnt even notic eit was ther ewhile driving around. also added a lto of rigidity to the car.

I Installed a MM bolt in 6pt with swing out door bars. I tacked the bars in place and my buddy finish welded it for me. I then painted it a satin black. Came out badass. I love the fit and finish of the MM 6 pt.

Your confusing roll "cage" with roll "bar"

If you told my chassis builder you wanted your car "caged" you would be very unhappy with the results.

This is my dilema. My 4 year old twins LOVE to ride in the cobra. I see that MM has a cage with a removable harness bar. I was thinking about that plus padding all the bars near the rear seats.

Honestly I don't think it's worth it with kids in the back. If something were to happen and one of them hit their head on a steer bar (padded or not) Id never forgive myself. At the same time my car isn't a track car and I don't want it to be

You are right, these are a roll bar, not a cage.

Removable harness bars are not NHRA legal, so depending on your track, they might not let you run anyway. I would not put a passenger in the back with the roll bar in there. I actually made my own custom delete just to remove the seat. I sat there in my garage, and the bar is no lie, 6" away from my chest. Not safe for a passenger anyway you look at it, padding or not.
