Freshening up the paint is actually a great idea. Paint correction, detailing and ceramic coating will make it look factory fresh or near factory fresh. Are you planning on doing the paint correction yourself or would you have a specialty shop do it?

Myself. The interior is mint as well. Just needs basic maintenance items honestly. It is a medium blue metallic. I need to get pics. I'd like to upgrade wheels and tires, do some minor suspension upgrades, nothing big. The AC is leaking from settling around so much, but the 4.0 runs great and pulls the little XJ along just fine.

Ls2 and t56 :)
What the what?!?!? What are you using to adapt a T56 to a transfercase? Or is it 2wd?
Also...I was lead to believe a T56 can't handle the weight of a truck due to its "car" ratios?
I want a manual "slick shifting" 4wd with decent power...but there isn't much to choose from when it comes to 4wd manual trans.
The high dollar coyote swaps are using the Jeep AX15...but its usually in lighter builds like first gen Broncos.

Yep still awd. The transmission uses a tri flange to 108mm 6 bolt CV adapter from CSPracing and then a turbo diesel drive shaft from G300TD part number A4634100502

About a year the swap has been completed. Next on the agenda is to reupolster the interior.

That is an unusual and impressive swap. Glad it's worked out well for you.

I tried to find a T56 for my Comanche but the deal I got on the LS1/4L60E was decent, it’s a low mileage complete set up. So that’s the route I went.
