Long story short I ended up at an acquaintances apt. after drinking for multiple hours, some drugs were pulled out and it was getting quite loud in the apt. so I chose to leave because I didn't want to be around them and didn't know these people did these kinds of things. I didn't have any money for a cab and don't have any friends in the area so I chose to drive home. I was pulled over for 48 in a 40 and was given sobriety tests and was taken to jail for DWI, I blew a .177 first mistake right there. I regretted my decision to drive and now realize the stupidity of it. Unfortunately, getting arrested was the way I had to learn but it was a valuable lesson that I needed to learn and if I could I would like to thank the officer that pulled me over because if it wasn't for him I probably wouldn't have had my eyes opened like they are now. Anyways, I had to take a 3 hour M.A.D.D. class, a 6 week alcohol class and do 20 hours of community service. Today, I had my final court date and everything is done with my 90 day license suspension is up on the 15th of this month. I considered myself to be very very lucky my punishment and my actions of driving drunk could have been a lot worse. If you ever think about driving drunk please don't you really can't afford it take it from somebody who's already made that mistake and been through it learn from my mistake.

You made quite a few dumb decisions that night but at least you are able to admit to your faults and learn from them.

You are lucky you're not in IL, here you have to put a blow box in your car for the first offense. It's a god damn witch hunt here because the state needs money so bad, not that I condone drinking and driving but road blocks every friday and saturday night is bullshit. Even while being sober its an annoyance because of the backed up traffic.

Also, my other 2 options that the prosecutor gave me was 15 month probation with an interlock device on my car or 30 days in jail so my punishment could have been a lot worse. I was also told by my attorney that I got the easiest prosecutor and judge in the county so that's why I'm so grateful to get what I got.

I commend you for a your maturity and learning from your mistake. Life lessons. We either learn from them and mature, or we don't learn from them and repeat our mistakes. You were indeed fortunate that things didn't turn worse that night. Now in 8 days you'll have your license back. Again, I commend you.

First mistake, drinking and driving. Second mistake, blowing. Glad you learned your lesson before you murdered someone on the road. Best of luck.

Thank you I appreciate that. This taught me a life lesson and a lesson in patience because not driving my car for 90 days while it's sitting in my driveway has been hard. I love driving my car like I'm sure a lot of you do so when I had to see it just sitting there it was another motivation/reason not to ever drive drunk again.

It's unfortunate it takes events like these to learn lessons, I got pulled over last year probably over three times the legal limit, didn't realize how drunk I was and thought well, It's not THAT far and I didn't want to leave my truck where it was or stay where I was.

Pulled over by PD for doing 80 in a 35 at 4 in the morning, he said.. but I was maybe doing 10 over, who knows but I wasn't going that fast, looked at my ID and said he had to be somewhere else.....That was the last time I will get that lucky, and the last time I have ever driven after taking a drink.

Everyone always says don't blow, but cant they get your BAC at the hospital anyways or was that a labor day only law last year?

In Texas, if you refuse to blow they can have the court order to draw blood very quickly, so it really does not matter... unless you feel the blood test will be more in your favor than blowing.
