I understand Ford says to replace any bolts or nuts removed from the chassis/suspension. Seems kind of silly to me with a low mileage car where I'm replacing the lower control arms. Is this the consensus, or do most buy new Ford bolts and nuts? I just figured I could loctite them and call it good.

They recommend not reusing them because they apply thread locker to them from the factory. So if you clean the threads and apply some loctite blue, you should be fine.

I thought it sounded whack. I did take the bolts out of the bar that reinforces the side to side area above the panhard bar to get my driver side muffler out and I think it cross threaded. Had to retap that biotch and clean the threads on the bolt to get it back in without using stupid torque. The car had about 1500 miles on it, now has 3000.

I recommend what Ford does.

That said, we have re-used them hundreds of times. ;)
