New 2013 SHO owner here. What is the best method for launching a SHO? In D it seems to launch a little sluggishly but gets up to speed fairly well. In S it does better but simply mashing the skinny pedal seems a little underwhelming still. Is it better to power brake or perform some other launch technique?

i don't have a SHO, but i see your a fellow NW'er. you can post it here or PM me, but how do you like your SHO. my wife and i are looking at them.

id imagine that getting it up on the converter and slowly spooling those turbos will help.

Yep, fellow NW'er, work right down in the Port of Tacoma. I love the SHO so far. I have only had it a few days but it is really a nice vehicle. It is the first turbo I have driven in about a decade and really is smooth given the engine type. Fit and finish on the vehicle is nice for a Big 3 product as well. The bells and whistles at the top end are pretty neat too if you like that sort of thing. I was looking at this and 300C SRT8 and although that big V8 was awesome the SHO won out due to the $10K lower price tag and the fact that some stroking by someone such as Livernois or Hennessy can get it right up to the same HP figures. AWD certainly helped too.

If you are interested let me know, I can refer you to the dealership I bought from. They really did right by me and the price was great. I did qualify for Ford X-Plan pricing which took a lot of the haggling out of the equation but they were still great and I would happily send others their way. I can also look vehicle history up as my company handles the plant logistics in Chicago (where the SHO is made.)

To launch it from a stop, power brake it and it will spool and leave pretty good. From the factory, you usually can't get much rpm by doing this, but with a tune our car likes to leave between 1,600 and 1,700 rpms.

The tune makes a huge difference! Our 2013 SHO was baselined at Milan Dragway in 70 degree heat and ran 14.3 @ 96 mph. A few weeks later, with only our custom tune and no other modifications, the car ran 13.4 @ 103 mph in 102 degree heat. I would expect high 12's to low 13's tune only. We are currently the only company able to tune a 2013 SHO.

I thought they were faster than that stock but [email protected] certainly changes the story! That is a huge difference in performance for a tune only 2013 SHO!

Harris Ford in Lynnwood. They were great. I once bought a Mustang from Scarff and they are good people.

13.1 is definitely moving out for a relatively heavy 4 door sedan!

Another 13.1 here, tune and CAI only, no PP car. It'll hit 12's in the correct weather. 14.1 @ 99 stock

So anyone break into 12s yet? Would be nice if Ford had an optional 5.0 version.

Yeah we have 5-7 SHO's that I can think of that go 12.0-12.4 and several others in the high 12's.

I took our 2013 to the track and only got two passes, but went a best of 12.8 @ 107 mph with our 93 tune and downpipe.

Dam. Just picked up my 13. The car is pretty flat stock IMO. That tune is tempting.
